Pipefitter Files Suit against Axiall and Others Due to Chlorine Leak

Hartley & O'Brien, PLLC recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of an employee of Simakas Company in the Circuit Court of Marshall County, West Virginia.

The plaintiff, a union pipefitter out of the Pipefitters and Plumbers Local Union 495, was exposed to chlorine fumes and vapors when a flange was removed from a pipe which contained chlorine. The resulting leak caused plaintiff and 9 of his co-workers to be overcome by the chlorine gas.

Plaintiff suffers from severe lung damage with his ability to work impaired as a result of the chlorine exposure.

Plaintiff filed suit against his employer – Simakas Company, Axiall, LLC, World Wide Safety Consultants, and others.
