Attorney Hartley Reappointed to WVU Public Health Council

Posted By Hartley Law Group, PLLC || 22-Oct-2018

Since 2011, the founder of our firm – and prominent West Virginia personal injury attorney – R. Dean Hartley has been a member of the Leadership Council of the West Virginia University School of Public Health. By providing support and leadership for the School of Public Health, the Leadership Council helps the school’s members build critical infrastructure within West Virginian and Appalachian communities: communities that are often isolated and impoverished.

Now, for the 7th consecutive year, Attorney Hartley has been reappointed to the Leadership Council, for a term that will extend until mid-summer 2021. As Attorney Hartley’s alma mater, West Virginia University holds a special place in his heart, and he is honored to continue serving his community by aiding the School of Public Health in its vision.

Public Health Challenges in West Virginia

As one of the most impoverished areas in the nation, and containing more than 100 counties considered to be at high poverty levels, the Appalachian region has an exceptionally high demand for qualified public health professionals. All too often, rural city officials lack the resources to educate citizens about health hazards, and they also face serious challenges with funding health initiatives.

That’s why the WVU School of Public Health is on a mission to “improve the health of West Virginians,” and to uplift communities as both researchers and practitioners. By working to improve and protect the population’s health through a combination of research, community outreach, and education, the West Virginia School of Public Health has made significant contributions to academia and to the citizens across the state, particularly in rural regions.

Your health and safety is important to us, and when you contact Hartley Law Group, you can rest assured that you will get the skilled and caring representation you need.
