Hartley Law Group Wheeling Office Welcomes Brent Barnette

Hartley Law Group is proud to announce that Brent Barnette has joined its Wheeling office.

Brent will focus his practice on personal injury, medical negligence, and toxic tort litigation, bringing a powerful combination of health science expertise and dedicated legal advocacy to West Virginia families.

A native of Lost Creek, West Virginia, Brent has deep roots in the state. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2023 with a degree in Exercise Physiology while completing pre-medical studies. While he initially intended to pursue a medical career, his passion for community advocacy led him to the courtroom.

Brent earned his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2026. While in law school, he championed the voices of others by participating in the West Virginia Innocence Project, where he gained critical experience handling post-conviction and habeas corpus matters.

Brent’s unique health sciences background gives him a distinct advantage when analyzing the complex medical issues central to personal injury, medical malpractice, and toxic tort litigation. His commitment to West Virginia communities and his passion for advocacy make him an exceptional asset to our clients as we pursue accountability for those who have been injured.

Outside the office, Brent is an avid sports fan who enjoys golfing, playing basketball, and spending time with his fiancée, family, and friends.
